Facade

*Someone you try to hide your feelings around but you get the sense they know what they do to you. You’re crazy about them and don’t want them to ever think less of you.*

I’ve been losing sleep ever since we met.

It seems I do nothing these days but fret.

Worrying about what you think of me.

Wondering who it is you truly see.

The confident facade I show to you.

Or my panicking self that’s really true.

When you walk by my heart begins to quake.

I’m not composed and do nothing but shake.

I try to hide it whenever you’re near,

But a life without you is what I fear.

I’m frozen in time when I catch your gaze.

You’re perfect in immeasurable ways.

It’s a struggle to look you in the eyes.

You are truly an ethereal prize.
